Virtual Rising

Useful Information

FOOTWEAR.- Please wear comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet the majority of your experience and able to move around. Stability is key! With your headset on you may feel unbalanced more than usual. Flat shoes are recommended.

CLOTHING.- You will move around in VR for some games - sometimes quite a lot! You may wish to be able to put on or take off a layer (like a jumper) whilst you get hot during gaming, and cooler whilst spectating and using our other features.

LUGGAGE.- We do not have any safe lockable storage. However we only allow your booking party into the studio during your session. Parking is available directly outside if you wish to secure valuables in your vehicle.

DRINKS / FOOD.- We only allow open drinks or food in our foyer areas and not into the play areas. A small selection of cold or hot drinks and cold snacks are available. Booked a private party? Speak with our team about your refreshment options.

UNATTENDED PLAY.- Players aged 7-12 are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Players 13+ who are unaccompanied have the consent of the guardian signing the Terms and Conditions below to be on the premises and participate in VR gaming.

Information about using VR Headsets & Gaming

HEADSET.– To use Virtual Reality (VR) you must wear a headset which will totally block your view of your real location, and headphones that will reduce your hearing of the outside world.

LANGUAGE.– Your view of inside the VR headset will be shown on monitors to spectators. Our team members can always see this view for safety. Some multiplayer experiences will allow you to see, and be seen, by people online from anywhere in the real world in virtual reality, so please be mindful of your actions and language, respecting other children and adults who may be in the virtual world with you.

AGE RATINGS.– Many titles have an age rating or suggestion. Players will be able to choose any title. It is the players (or players guardian if under 18) responsibility to check and monitor that the selected games are appropriate. Our system includes features to help display appropriate titles for the age of players, but this can only work when a player selects or provides their correct age.

ONLINE.– Some games allow access to the internet and can allow interaction, including audio and gestures which we will absolutely have no control over. Unfortunately, this means inappropriate behaviour and verbal comments can be easily encountered, and all users should be aware that any online game can allow this to happen. We encourage internal multiplayer only and our host will offer advice but cannot guarantee this will not happen if an online title is selected.

IN STORE.– Some players and users of VR can be easily shocked or surprised, both pleasantly and not, which can result in some people shouting expletives. Virtual Rising and its staff will do all it can to stop this but it is obviously impossible for us to stop it entirely. We do ask that all players respect the others on our premises.

WOW!– Our Virtual Reality experiences can be extremely realistic, creating unprecedented levels of emotions. You can be scared, made to feel unsafe, unsure of your footings, or make you jump out of your skin. Other titles can help you relax and unwind, wow you with wonder, or make you curious. We cannot be held responsible for any injury caused by a player's actions whilst reacting to VR. We do everything we can to provide a safe environment.

FIRST TIME.– We recommend you start with more gentle experiences until you have become more familiar with the new world, unless you really want to experience something shocking. All our titles have information listed that will help you choose the experiences that best suit you. Please read this information before choosing any experience. Our host is always on hand to guide and assist you.
